CASUALLY YELLING FROM THE VOID

Launched in 2018, Black Girl Film Club is a podcast aimed at creating a space for Black women to watch and discuss movies. Presented in a conversational manner, hosts Ashley and Britney have reviewed and analyzed movies from such disparate genres as 1950s noir, Blaxploitation era films, and the best of Hong Kong cinema. Black Girl Film Club has been described as “unique and intimate” and featured in Occidental College’s Critical Theory & Social Justice The Matrix series, “The Best Feminist Podcasts You Need To Listen To Right Now” by Stylist UK and as one of “10 Podcasts for Discovering New Movies” by Lifehacker.
